- Southside Area Chapter receives an award from The Cameron Foundation
award.jpgThe American Red Cross – Southside Area Chapter was awarded the 2009 Cameron Foundation’s Cleveland A. Wright Award for Outstanding Community Service.  This award rewards nonprofit organization for outstanding work that improves the quality of life of residents of Petersburg, Hopewell, Dinwiddie, Prince George, Colonial Heights, southern Chesterfield and Sussex county.  The award winner must be able to demonstrate the impact of its work in the communities it serves and is evaluated on its commitment to caring for the residents of the community, generosity of spirit, and the ease with which residents can access its services.  For winning this award the Chapter was awarded a $40,000 unrestricted award.

The award was accepted at the Train Station in Petersburg by Rosalyn Andrews, chapter manager of the Southside Area Chapter and Mary Rudisill, chairman of the board of directors.  Several of the board members were in attendance wearing “Red” for support.
